Unleashing Creativity: Are Schools Missing the Mark?
Are Schools Missing The Mark?
Hey there! So, I've been doing some thinking lately, and I feel like I might be a bit late to the game on this one. I've got this burning desire to shine a light on how our education system isn't always serving our kids the way it should.
Yesterday, I asked you all about the purpose of teaching—are we teaching kids how to think or what to think? It's a big question, right? If you missed it, take a moment to check it out before you dive into this.
Anyway, I recently stumbled upon this TED talk from February 2006 by Sir Ken Robinson. Yeah, it's been over 15 years, but his message is still so relevant. He was calling for a shake-up in education even back then, urging us to nurture creativity and prepare kids for the future, not just for tests.
What's scary is that despite all these years, it feels like we're still stuck in the same old rut. We're churning out generations of students who might not be fully tapping into their creative potential or getting the skills they really need to succeed in a overly competitive world.
Sir Ken Robinson totally nails it in his talk. It's like a mic drop moment—you've got to check it out if you're into shaking things up in your teaching practice, whether you're an educator or a parent.

Trust me, it's food for thought and then some.
